Elderberries and Rose Hip are rich in Vitamin C, boosting the immune system. Research suggests that both Elderberry and Echinacea, when taken at the onset of symptoms, can reduce the severity and duration of illness.
You can enjoy this blend as a tea or turn it into a syrup using the following recipe:
1. Combine the entire packet of herbal tea blend with 1 quart (4 cups) of cold water and bring to a boil.
2. Reduce heat to a simmer and let it reduce to half its volume, which can take 15 minutes to 1 hour.
3. Strain the liquid with a tea strainer and return it to the saucepan.
4. Add 1-4 cups of honey to the saucepan and heat slightly on simmer to melt the honey.
5. Transfer the syrup to a clean, dry jar, label it, and store it in the refrigerator. Check for mold periodically.
6. Dosage: 1 tablespoon for adults every 4 hours, or 1 teaspoon for children every 4 hours.
